Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Ascendo Media (“we”, “us”) helps local businesses with Google Maps, websites and social media. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you request a free audit or contact us, we collect the information you choose to give us:
- your name, business name, city and type of business
- your email address and, if you give it, your phone number
- your business website address and any message you send
We also look at publicly available information about your business, such as your Google Business Profile, website and social media pages, to prepare your audit.
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. When the page loads, your browser requests fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
Why we use it
- to prepare and send the audit you asked for
- to reply to your questions and discuss our services
- to provide services if you become a client, including invoicing and record-keeping
We only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and every such email lets you unsubscribe, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Consent
By sending us a request, you consent to us using your information for the purposes above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us. If you do, we may not be able to complete your audit or provide our services.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We only share it with:
- members of the Ascendo Media team who need it to do the work, including team members located outside Canada (such as in India)
- service providers that help us run our business, such as our email, website hosting and file-storage providers, some of which store data outside Canada (for example, in the United States)
- authorities, where the law requires it
Information stored or processed outside Canada may be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country. We require our team members and service providers to protect your information and use it only for our purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep audit requests for up to 24 months, unless you become a client or ask us to delete them sooner. Client records are kept for as long as Canadian tax and business laws require.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, including secure, password-protected accounts with two-step verification, and we limit access to the people who need it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
